About The Position

Nightwing is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of advanced cybersecurity capabilities. This position involves managing, administering, troubleshooting, and testing all Splunk components, software, hardware, licensing, and all other aspects of the information system. A critical aspect of the role will be ensuring the logging of mission and organizational data against unauthorized disclosure, accidental or intentional loss of data, or unauthorized modification. The Senior Software Engineer will support a U.S. Government customer on a large mission-critical development and sustainment program to design, build, deliver, and operate a network operations environment, including introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. The responsibilities of this role include applying current analytical and logical thinking to the design, architecture, development, evaluation, testing, and integration of computer systems, appliances, and networks involving the architecture and implementation of the Splunk product. The candidate must demonstrate attention to detail, out-of-the-box thinking, and a problem-solving mindset, while being able to work under pressure and deliver on tight schedules. A superb understanding of various technologies, including firewalls, web application firewalls, VPNs, DNS, Data Loss Prevention, IDS/IPS, and proxies, is essential. The engineer will develop security systems for both manual and automated systems environments, ensuring the logging of mission and organizational data against unauthorized disclosure, accidental or intentional loss of data, or unauthorized modification. Additionally, the Senior Software Engineer will support projects and project management personnel throughout the full software development lifecycle, manage technology roadmaps with each product, and propose briefs and reports to elaborate on recommended actions based on best practices. The role also involves working with a variety of different tools and appliances, troubleshooting various complex issues, and performing full product testing to the extent of the product's capabilities as required by the customer and the program. The engineer will develop capabilities according to customer requirements and NIST, DHS, and Government guidelines and regulations.
