About The Position

The individual will perform duties as required indoors and outdoors, at times under adverse weather conditions, for an extended period of time as required. Will use mechanical skills to assist operations with material, hand tools, and equipment pertinent to the installation and maintenance of cables and the underground system. The individual will be required during periods of trouble call assignment to be available at the reporting base within approximately one-half hour.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or the equivalent is required.
• Ability to pass the Construction and Skilled Trades Test (CAST) and the physical agility assessment.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid CDL within six (6) months.
• Mechanical/Technical experience is required.
• Splicing experience is preferred.
• Ability to complete the requirements of Splicer T.M.P. Training Merit Progression and qualify as a Splicer at the end of the training period.
• Ability to work emergency and planned overtime when the need exists.
• Work history that demonstrates safe work habits.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates who currently hold a CDL-A are preferred.
