About The Position

To provide spiritual counsel to Hospice patients and families, while keeping with their belief system and values.

Requirements

• Requires a BA degree in Theology, Spirituality, or related field.
• Requires ecclesiastical endorsement.
• Required experience in assessing spiritual needs and providing spiritual care within differing beliefs, cultures, and values.
• Requires experience in providing counseling services.
• Current motor vehicle driving license, motor vehicle insurance and ability to travel is required.
• Able to exercise independent judgment yet work within a team structure.
• Belief and knowledge of the hospice concept of care.
• Good organizational skills.
• Good communication skills, written and oral including documentation.
• Respects confidentiality.
• Must be able to administer sacraments and officiate funerals.
• Ability to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change and interruptions.
• Knowledge of diverse lifestyles, family structures, and dynamics, cultural and religious practices, learning preferences, and age and gender specific considerations.
• Must be able to read, write and/or speak English.
• Must provide proof of Mandatory Reporting for Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training prior to employment or within 6 months of hire and maintain current status per State of Iowa guidelines
• All offers are contingent upon the successful completion of references, background checks, pre-employment physical, drug screen and post offer exam.
