About The Position

The Spine Specialist will be responsible for clinical surgical coverage and sales support activities of Stryker Spine customers in a designated area. The Spine Specialist will represent and cover Spine surgical cases professionally, efficiently and effectively. They will articulate the proper use of surgical instruments and implants to surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives, process instrument sets and paperwork efficiently, and maintain a high and increasing knowledge of instruments, implants, surgical techniques, and procedures. The role also involves keeping Sales Representatives and Regional Managers informed of territory happenings, providing support as needed, managing inventory, and participating in sales meetings and medical education events.

Requirements

  • Mastered spinal anatomy and anatomical landmarks necessary to instruct a surgeon on the use of Stryker Spine products.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
  • Bachelor's Degree from a 4 year accredited college or university, preferred.
  • Surgical Technologist certificate or nursing degree, preferred.
  • Three (3) years' experience in a clinical and/or operating room environment, preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport, develop and maintain relationships.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce.
  • Ability to travel to all accounts within assigned territory, as directed by Sales Manager.
  • Must be able to lift and carry multiple surgical trays (minimum 24 lbs).
  • Must be available on a 24-hour per day basis to respond to customer emergencies.
  • Ability to handle instruments that may have been contaminated by blood or other bodily fluids.
  • Regularly required to talk or hear; vision requirements include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Represent and cover Spine surgical cases professionally, efficiently and effectively.
  • Articulate the proper use of surgical instruments and implants to surgeons, nurses, and sales representatives.
  • Process instrument sets and paperwork efficiently and promptly.
  • Maintain a high and increasing knowledge of instruments, implants, surgical techniques, and procedures.
  • Keep Sales Representative(s) and Regional Manager informed of territory happenings and progress on a regular basis.
  • Provide support to territory as needed by Sales Representative and Sales Manager.
  • Remain informed of new products and competitive activity.
  • Manage and maintain inventory.
  • Attend and participate in sales meetings, training programs, conventions, and trade shows as directed.
  • Assist in execution of Local, Regional and National Medical Education events.
  • Complete all required and requested reports correctly and submit in a timely manner.
