About The Position

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Virginia seeks candidates for a tenure-eligible clinical faculty position. Responsibilities include: Clinical: Assume and develop spine practice of varying complexity. Cover approximately 20% of department's spine call. Education: Support resident education and research, including supervision and teaching in operating room, inpatient wards, clinic and labs. Participate in fellow, resident and medical student teaching sessions, and in regional and national presentations. Research: Engage in clinical trials and clinical research projects, apply for internal and external grants to support this research, and publish results. Qualifications Qualified candidates must have a MD and completion of a residency in neurological surgery. Candidates must have significant surgical experience, and a demonstrated track record of successful research activity. Fellowship training in neurological surgery is strongly preferred. Minimally invasive techniques welcomed. Salary, rank, and tenure are commensurate with education and experience.
