About The Position

And we continue to grow! Martin Bros. Distributing is actively hiring Delivery Assistants to work out of Spencer, IA. This position assists the delivery driver in making deliveries to customer locations. This position has varied start times between the hours of 10:00PM and 5:00AM and can work up to 14 hours per day. Schedule changes are common as route loads may vary. The Delivery Assistants will work with Delivery Drivers and will provide professional, friendly delivery service to all Martin Bros. customers. The Delivery Assistant works alongside delivery drivers scanning, stacking and wheeling product into customer locations. They will help Delivery Drivers while working with customers to deliver and store products as determined by the customer. This position is responsible for following designed delivery methods using scanning program and issuing credit as deemed necessary. Delivery Assistants will serve as the sole delivery person when the driver is injured but only permitted to drive.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, portable computer device, invoices, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to safely lift cases of product and use a handcart to deliver product.
• Ability to lift 100 pounds regularly.
• Enjoy working with the public and deal with multiple types of customers (Nursing Homes, Schools, Restaurants).
• Navigate two-wheel cart up/down a ramp regularly and up/down stairs as needed.
• Valid Drivers License.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist the delivery driver in making deliveries to customer locations.

• Scan, stack, and wheel product into customer locations alongside delivery drivers.
• Help Delivery Drivers deliver and store products as determined by the customer.
