About The Position

Speechwriter Job Duties: Draft speeches, remarks, talking points, internal communications, congressional testimony, and presentations for Agency leadership. Translate complex technical, policy, and programmatic information into clear, compelling narratives tailored to specific audiences. Ensure all written materials align with the voice, tone, and style of Agency leadership. Support strategic communications planning for high-visibility forums and leadership engagements. Conduct research and synthesize information from internal and external sources to support accurate and effective messaging. Collaborate with leadership and communications staff to refine messaging and respond to evolving priorities. Manage multiple writing assignments simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. Maintain accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality in all leadership communications.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in communications, English, Journalism, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in speechwriting, executive communications, or related writing roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft speeches, remarks, talking points, internal communications, congressional testimony, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Strong skills in synthesizing complex information from internal and external sources into clear, compelling, and audience-appropriate narratives.
  • Ability to maintain consistency with the voice, tone, and style of Agency leadership.
  • Experience supporting strategic communications planning and high-visibility leadership engagements.
  • Excellent research, editorial, and writing skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with leadership and communications teams.
