At Lyon-Martin, you will be working in a clinic that provides gender affirming health care services, and the focus of this externship will be providing gender affirming speech therapy for our patients. Requirements

Enrollment in a Graduate Program: Externships are typically part of the curriculum for students pursuing a master's degree in speech-language pathology.
Academic Performance: Strong academic standing and demonstrated ability to learn and apply knowledge.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and other professionals.
Professionalism: Commitment to ethical behavior, confidentiality, and adherence to professional standards.
At least 2nd year speech therapy graduate student
Culturally sensitive/humble and able to work with a diverse population. Interest in or ability to work with high acuity patient population.
Experience working with lesbian, bisexual, transgender, non-binary, gender non-conforming, and intersex clients.
Experience working with populations with varying disabilities, racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic statuses.
Experience working with clients who do sex work, those experiencing homelessness, people who have challenges with mental illness and/or are using substances, those of with a history of incarceration, people of varying ages.
