The Speech Therapist (ST) assesses and evaluates patients who would benefit from skilled speech therapy services and develops an appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practices requirements. The Center at Tucson is a skilled nursing facility that serves patients needing physical rehabilitation and/or complex nursing care.   • Effectively screen/evaluate patients with possible communication, cognitive or swallowing disorders and develops appropriate plan of care following all regulatory and clinical practice standards
  • Provide rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with communication, cognitive and/or swallowing disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements
  • Evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness
  • Provide comprehensive discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements
  • Work closely with patients, family members and other care team members to adequately plan for patient needs, to include short term and long term goals
  • Must possess a current and valid fingerprint clearance card (FPCC).
  • Must possess a current and valid Speech Therapist license.
  • Must possess a current and valid CPR certification.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.
  • 1 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to tactfully work with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition.
  • Must be knowledgeable of HIPAA compliance and requirements, and have the ability to maintain highly confidential information.
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of other individuals in the workplace.
  • 1 years’ experience in a skilled nursing facility is preferred.
