Requirements
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems
Nice To Haves
- Experience in geriatric speech therapy or a senior living setting (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess residents' speech, language, cognitive communication, and swallowing abilities
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each resident's needs and goals
- Administer therapeutic interventions, such as speech exercises, language stimulation activities, and swallowing techniques
- Provide patient education and guidance to residents and their families on communication strategies and techniques
- Monitor residents' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed based on ongoing assessments
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of resident care in compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure coordinated care
- Participate in care planning meetings and provide recommendations for resident care and discharge planning
- Maintain an average “Patient Care Time” (productivity) of > 82.5%
- Performs other duties as assigned
