Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients within 24 hours of referral and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapy based on physician-directed plans of care.
  • Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) in patient care, ensuring quality services.
  • Participate in care conferences, utilization reviews, and rehabilitation team meetings.
  • Document evaluations, treatment notes, and progress reports per state and payer requirements.
  • Provide caregiver and family training to support patient success after discharge.
  • Assist with discharge planning and recommend communication or swallowing aids as needed.
  • Act as a clinical preceptor for CFY/RFP SLPs and student programs.
  • Contribute to ongoing staff education and maintain compliance with state practice standards.
