MercyOne Newton Medical Center: Ideal for new grad needing fellowship time and support of a mentor! Full-Time Day Shift (80 hours biweekly) Provides evaluation consultation, and treatment of patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing deficits. Provides on-going speech/language therapy to patients of diverse ages and their families. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions. Performs evaluations and treatments to a diverse population in a variety of settings and completes supporting documentation according to hospital policy (based on assignment). Appropriately establishes and reviews: plan of care; goals and priorities with team (including patient/family); treatment in response to changing patient needs; educational needs of patient/caregivers; discharge plan/follow-up care needs. Complies with department, hospital, and regulatory agency guidelines with respect to ethics, legal issues and supervisory relationships. Demonstrates professional accountability per Speech – Language Pathology Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Demonstrates appropriate and effective written, verbal, and non-verbal communication with team members through the continuum of care.
