About The Position
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Speech Therapist for an exciting Travel or Local job in Cumming, GA. This contract position involves providing speech-language pathology services for acute care patients. The role includes evaluating and treating patients with swallowing, cognitive, and communication disorders, specifically supporting ICU, stroke, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Speech-Language Pathology required
- Active GA SLP license and CCC-SLP certification required
- AHA BLS certification required
- Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills
Nice To Haves
- Acute care experience preferred
- MBS/FEES proficiency preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Provide speech-language pathology services for acute care patients
- Evaluate and treat patients with swallowing, cognitive, and communication disorders
- Support ICU, stroke, neurological, and post-surgical patient populations
- Perform bedside and inpatient speech and swallowing assessments
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and rehab teams on care plans
- Manage dysphagia cases and respiratory-compromised patients
- Document evaluations, treatment plans, and patient progress accurately
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination
- Educate patients and families on therapy plans and recovery goals
- Ensure compliance with hospital and clinical safety protocols
