About The Position

The speech-language pathologist is responsible for implementing standards of care for speech-language pathology services and adhering to all conditions in the Service Agreement within the Caldwell, Emmett, and Fruitland areas. This role involves conducting appropriate evaluations, assessing the home environment (as appropriate), and identifying equipment needs related to speech/language function. The pathologist identifies functional speech defects and establishes a plan of care to improve patient function, administering speech therapy programs utilizing specialized therapeutic techniques and/or equipment. They also recommend communication devices/aids as indicated. The position requires conferring with referring physicians and other organization personnel to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care, contributing to the total plan of care, and participating in case conferences, in-services, and other meetings as required. Responsibilities also include preparing and submitting notes per organization policy, maintaining clinical competency in speech-language pathology practice and theory, identifying patient and family/caregiver needs for other services and referring as appropriate, and instructing patients, family/caregivers, and other Organization health care personnel in the patient’s treatment regime. The role may also involve supervising home health aides in procedures directly related to the speech-language therapy plan of care and performing other duties as required to facilitate the delivery of speech-language pathology services.

Requirements

  • Possesses a master’s or doctoral degree in speech-language pathology (SLP).
  • Is licensed as a speech-language pathologist by the State in which the individual furnishes such service; or if the State does not license speech-language pathologists: must successfully completed 350 clock hours of supervised clinical practicum (or is in the process of accumulating such supervised clinical experience); performed not less than 9 months of supervised full-time SLP services after obtaining a master’s or doctoral degree in SLP or a related field; and successfully completed an approved national examination in SLP.
  • A minimum of one (1) year's clinical experience in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Demonstrates good verbal and written communication, and organization skills.
  • Possesses and maintains current CPR certification.
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured in accordance with the organization requirements.

Responsibilities
