Requirements

• A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or a similarly-titled area acceptable to the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
• A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow.
• Licensed, certified, or credentialed as required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

• Help patients communicate, swallow, and work to diminish or remediate disorders or deficits.
• Take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of rehab services.
• Design and execute rehabilitation plans with patients.
• Address the whole patient and see them as individuals.
• Restore, reinforce, and enhance patients' speech and communication abilities.
• Adapt to the needs of the patient and thrive in a variety of work settings.
• Collaborate with peers and make referrals for additional patient care.
• Train patients and caregivers on skills to promote independence and productivity.
