About The Position

A healthcare facility is seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support an acute care setting. The role involves providing speech therapy services across a wide range of patient populations, including medical, surgical, and critical care patients.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience within speech therapy specialty
• Active Georgia SLP License
• CCC-SLP certification required
• BLS Certification (AHA required)
• No local candidates within 50 miles
• Variable schedule between 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
• Minimum 2 weekends per 4 weeks required (4 weekends preferred)

Nice To Haves

• Prior acute care experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) and/or FEES is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy services based on physician orders throughout the hospital
• Evaluate and treat patients with a variety of conditions including: Stroke and neurological disorders Dysphagia and swallowing disorders Respiratory compromise Cognitive and communication impairments
• Support patients in acute care settings, including ICU
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Document patient progress and treatment outcomes accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
