About The Position

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for administration and direct application of Speech-Language Pathology treatment modalities as prescribed by a referring Physician.  Evaluates plans, directs and treats all patients referred to Speech Language Pathology.  Assists patients to obtain maximum performance and function in society while learning to live a routine “normal” life within the constraints of their disability.  Participates in performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities.

Requirements

  • Masters of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from accredited college or university
  • Hospital-based experience and or Clinical Fellowship.
  • New York State License Speech Language Pathologist
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S.)
  • Certificate in Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • Competency in use of CSL and nasometry equipment.
  • Experienced in inpatient setting
  • Inpatient stroke assessment competencies.
