Speech/language pathologist is responsible for providing reports, progress, evaluating, treating and counseling patients of all ages with speech, language, voice, fluency, oral motor(including swallowing) and any other deviation or disorder that alters an individual’s need, ability or way of means of communication. Must be willing, if the need arises, to supervise support personnel and clinical fellowship candidates. Must exhibit good rapport with other departments and nursing staff to enhance the quality improvement studies. Assists in maintaining material needed for assessment, treatment, charging and scheduling of patients. Be able to provide counseling services when appropriate to patient and family members in the realm of consultations, evaluations, reports, progress and special needs instruction to facilitate the patient’s communication and basic needs. Physical Effort: Use the skills of talking and listening to convey instructions and information to patients, family members and other staff. Must be able to evaluate and treat patients in the various areas of speech/language pathology.
