About The Position

Overview Per Request Needed- Monday – Sun flexible hours between 7:00AM-6:00PM Function as a member of the interdisciplinary team. Perform Speech Therapy Evaluations. Establish Speech Therapy treatment plans. Treat patients in a variety of settings including: neurological or orthopedic settings. Patient populations served include pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric. Provide patient/family education. Perform appropriate documentation in electronic medical record. Participate in patient care conferences/ staffing as appropriate. Supervise support personnel including Speech Therapist students and Rehab Aides. Why UnityPoint Health? Requirements

Master’s degree from an accredited Speech Therapy program.
2 years’ experience as a Speech Therapist.
Current IA and/or IL Speech Therapy licensure (or eligible).
Current CPR certification.
Certification of Clinical Competency issued by ASHA within 1 year of hire.
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
Working knowledge of Epic.

Responsibilities

Perform Speech Therapy evaluation and development of the plan of care appropriate for each patient based on the patient’s physical, mental, emotional, and developmental impairments and functional limitations. A variety of diagnoses and possibility of all 3 settings served include but are not limited to communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders
Provide Speech Therapy interventions in accordance with established standards of care, policies, procedures, and state/federal law. Interventions may be related to but not limited to communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
Supervise and complete appropriate documentation for Speech Therapy students as assigned by CCCE.
Schedule Speech Therapy services according to department
Complete documentation in electronic medical record in a timely manner in accordance within department and professional expectations demonstrating the need for skilled interventions.
Participate in patient care conferences/staffing as appropriate for multidisciplinary patients.
