The Speech Pathologist provides advanced patient care including evaluations, goal setting, treatment planning, family training and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with designated practice act and department policy and procedure. The role is responsible for providing inpatient care as per physician's orders and supervises non-CCS (California Children's Services) paneled staff as requested. The Speech Pathologist participates in case conferences and discharge planning meetings, working with the program coordinator, case manager and/or MTU (Medical Therapy Unit)/school representative to communicate and coordinate recommendations for ongoing therapy and equipment needs upon discharge. The position also involves performing other duties as needed.
