About The Position

The Speech-Language Pathologist assumes a dynamic leadership role on the interdisciplinary patient care teams. This individual identifies patient care needs, develops a plan of care and goals in collaboration with the patient, provides a wide variety of treatment techniques within the scope of practice, provides education and support to patients/families, and facilitates continuing care planning. The therapist participates in staff management, cost management, and professional practice activities. The therapist is responsible for demonstrating excellent customer service and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department.

Requirements

  • Masters’ degree in Speech-Language Pathology, from an accredited program
  • Current Speech-Language Pathology license in State of Ohio.
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
  • Able to multi-task with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.
  • Dependable, flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Teamwork oriented. Display tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and prioritization skills.
  • Strong organizational skills. Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, treat, document, delegate, and discharge patients per guidelines.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and provide patient/family education.
  • Ensure accurate billing through proper documentation.
  • Manage caseload per department standards and support patient satisfaction efforts.
  • Participate in performance improvement programs and complete required competencies.
