About The Position

Organizes and conducts defined portions of the Speech Language Pathology to facilitate the habilitation or rehabilitation of people with speech, language, cognitive linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing disabilities. Directs patient participation in selected activities to establish, enhance, and restore speech, language, cognitive linguistic, psychosocial, and swallowing abilities or compensate for their loss. Patient evaluation, treatment planning, discharge planning. Patient treatment. Documentation. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. This position is PRN and will provide coverage for PTO, LOA's and staffing shortages within the department, weekends and holidays. This position is at the Parma Medical Center. Minimum PRN requirement is one weekend every six weeks and one holiday per year.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Therapy program
  • Licensed by the State of Ohio to practice Speech-Language Therapy.
  • Master's Degree MA or MS Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited graduate program required.
  • Must have professional initiative, objectivity, good time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be physically and cognitively able to provide patient assessment and treatment.
  • Requires the evaluation and treatment skills necessary to provide Speech-Language Pathology services appropriate to the developmental/chronological age of patients on their caseload.
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology or Conditional license by the State of Ohio Required Upon Hire.
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow Required Upon Hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic Life Support Certification Required Upon Hire.
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensed by the State of Ohio State of Ohio, Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Required Upon Hire.
  • Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) American Speech Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellow Certification Required Upon Hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required Upon Hire.
