Requirements

  • One year work experience in the acute hospital setting preferred.
  • Experience in diagnosing and treating swallow disorders.
  • Ability to analyze test results to determine patients' communicative abilities and to determine necessary therapy.
  • Completion of Master's Degree required in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational institution.
  • License to practice speech pathology by the California State Board of Medical Examiners and Certificate of clinical competence (ASHA) or a RPE/CFY applicant supervised by licensed Speech Pathologist following State and ASHA guidelines.
  • Current BLS Certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the diagnostic, evaluative, and therapeutic procedures for the treatment of those disabled by illness or injury when prescribed by a licensed physician.
  • Provides speech and language treatments to patients.
