About The Position

To provide professional skills in the comprehensive evaluation of patients with speech and language impairments, and to provide habilitative and rehabilitative treatment services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in related field.
  • Certification or eligible for Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
  • Licensure or eligible for Speech Pathology License from the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in acute care and/or clinical swallow evaluations.
  • Experience in PMV evaluations and speech/language evaluations.
  • Training and consideration to strong candidates without acute care experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation of patients with speech and language impairments.
  • Deliver habilitative and rehabilitative treatment services.
  • Conduct infant and toddler feeding assessments.
  • Perform pediatric and adult modified barium swallow studies.
  • Conduct fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing.
  • Provide videostroboscopy and voice treatment.
  • Assess trach and ventilator dependent patients.
  • Deliver speech rehabilitation for head and neck cancer patients.
  • Conduct speech, language, and cognitive-linguistic assessments.
  • Teach medical students and residents.
  • Supervise clinical fellows.
