Cunningham Children’s Home is seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Circle Academy. This role provides direct services to students with speech and language needs in a therapeutic educational setting. As a Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll work closely with students, families, and educational teams to support each child’s communication development and academic success. About Us Circle Academy Urbana is a therapeutic special education school serving students in grades K-12. We provide a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic learning environment where the Speech and Language Therapist can make a meaningful impact on each student's academic and emotional growth.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Illinois Professional Educator License with Speech-Language Pathologist endorsement
  • ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) required
  • Knowledge of speech/language development, special education regulations, trauma-informed care, and behavior management
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented, and able to communicate effectively across disciplines
  • Willingness to travel between Urbana and Rossville campuses as needed

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with RTI/MTSS, early childhood development, autism, and assistive technology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct screenings, diagnostic assessments, and evaluations to determine student needs.
  • Provide direct speech/language therapy services, including management of articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with school staff and families.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and collaborate with teachers on strategies to support student goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school and state requirements.
  • Provide consultation and recommendations to staff and families.
  • Stay current on best practices and continue professional development as a Speech and Language Therapist.
