About The Position

The Speech Language Therapist Long-Term Substitute position is designed to provide essential speech therapy services to students across the district. The role requires a qualified individual to evaluate and address communication deficits in both English as a Second Language (ESLS) and Special Education students. The therapist will work collaboratively with parents, staff, and administration to develop effective solutions for communication challenges. This position is set to begin in January 2025 and will be compensated at a rate of $120 per diem.

Requirements

• Speech Language Specialist Certification
• Experience in evaluating deficits in the areas of articulation, fluency, voice and language development
• Ability to work well with people
• Experience with materials, strategies and techniques used in speech therapy
• Criminal History Approval from the State of New Jersey

Responsibilities

• Provide speech therapy for both ESLS and Special Education students
• Collaborate with parents, staff and administration to develop solutions for communication deficits
• Serve as a resource person to staff regarding speech and language areas
