About The Position

This role is designed for clinically trained SLPs who want to apply their expertise in a research setting—research experience is not required. You’ll conduct clinical assessments, support innovative research projects, and contribute to work with national reach while being a part of a collaborative clinical research community. If you’re seeking a professional change that still values your SLP expertise, this position offers a unique and rewarding alternative to traditional clinical or school based roles. This role is especially well suited for SLPs seeking variety, collaboration, and a broader impact. SLPs with experience in early intervention or providing services to children with autism and their families are especially encouraged to apply. Full Time: with flexibility for occasional half day weekends Research experience is not required

Requirements

  • Masters in science or Masters in art degree in Speech/Language Pathology required.
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record required.
  • Pass an annual Motor Vehicle Registration (MVR) check required.
  • Ability to provide own transportation (mileage reimbursed) to complete travel requirements of the job required.
  • Meet auto insurance requirements established by Boys Town policy and/or State and Local laws required.
  • Have or be eligible for NE state licensing with 2 years of transfer or hire required.
  • Certification from the American Speech / Language Hearing Association (ASHA), showing Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or its equivalent within 2 years of transfer or hire required.
  • Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) certification within 30 days of transfer or hire required.

  • Ability to apply knowledge in the area of normal speech and language development and speech/language disorders.
  • Ability to communicate well and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use equipment such as video cameras and personal computers.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and use Microsoft Office Software, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability and willingness to learn research-specific software.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three years of experience in the area of evaluation and/or interventions with individuals with communication disorders preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of research lab experience as a student or professional preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily lab activities including schedules and budgets.
  • Leads participant recruitment efforts.
  • Supervises and mentors lab assistants.
  • Administers standardized tests that measure broad aspects of language and communication and shares outcomes with the participant or the participant’s legal guardian.
  • Manages communication with the Internal Review Board, including drafting proposals and modifications.
  • Represents the laboratory on social media platforms.
  • Assists in the preparation of stimuli and development of appropriate test procedures.
  • Enters data into databases.
  • Works with other team members to establish and document reliable research procedures.
  • Provides transportation for patients as needed.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.
