About The Position

The Speech Language Pathology Consultant at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, is responsible for providing differential diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in both adults and children. Requirements

  • Possess CCC-SLP certification.
  • Hold a PhD in Speech Pathology or a related discipline.
  • Be board eligible or board-certified by the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences.
  • Eligible for speech-language pathology licensure by the Minnesota Department of Health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide differential diagnosis of speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders in adults and children in the outpatient setting.
  • Collaborate with physician colleagues in neurology subspecialties for diagnostic work-up and clinical recommendations.
  • Treat complex disorders of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing.
  • Engage in educational activities, including mentoring post-doctoral fellows and trainees from various disciplines.
  • Participate in research activities, often collaboratively with trainees or within established research laboratories.
