About The Position

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized, accredited college or university; or 24 semester hours in speech-language pathology Professional licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant issued by the State Board for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Knowledge of habilitation and rehabilitation of speech-language disorders and conditions Ability to implement speech-language therapy to treat communication disorders Strongly preferred : Current or confirmed future enrollment into an accredited graduate program for Communication Sciences and Disorders TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Probationary/Term Contract: 187 days SALARY: $64,206 (IA-3) as approved by the Board of Trustees ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Following initial diagnostic by the licensed SLP supervisor, complete specific tasks under the supervision of the licensed SLP. Plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech and language goals contained in the Individualized Education Plans (IEP) designed by the licensed SLP supervisor. Participate in the Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) Committee, as appropriate as a licensed SLP-Assistant, to present speech and language goals that have been developed by the licensed SLP supervisor. Collaborate with classroom teachers to provide carry-over activities to improve communication skills of students. Collect and maintain data about student performance. Prepare therapy materials. Compile, maintain and file all physical and computerized reports, records and other required documents. Comply with policies established by federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule and board policy. Maintain confidentiality.
