Position Title: Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLP-A) Department: Special Student Services Location: Seaside School District AND/OR Warrenton Hammond School District Reports To: Program Coordinator FLSA Status: Exempt Compensation: Classified Salary Schedule, Range T FTE: Part-time or Full-time FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME OPTIONS: 0.40 FTE IN WARRENTON HAMMOND SCHOOL DISTRICT: WORK DATES JANUARY 2026 - JUNE 2026 0.60 FTE IN SEASIDE SCHOOL DISTRICT: WORK DATES OCTOBER 2025 - JUNE 2026 APPLICANTS INTERESTED IN EITHER OR BOTH LOCATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED TO APPLY. NW REGIONAL ESD'S MISSION STATEMENT: In Partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional ESD improves student learning by providing equitable access to high quality services and support.

  • Provide direct treatment assistance to students as directed by the supervising SLP.
  • Follow documented therapy plans and instructional strategies developed by the SLP that is appropriate to the age and learning needs of individual students and is selected through an evidence-based decision-making process in accordance with the IEP/IFSP documentation.
  • Demonstrate awareness, knowledge, and sensitivity in the area of language acquisition with linguistically and/or culturally diverse populations.
  • Implement a continuum of service delivery models in the least restrictive environment for students with disabilities and implement a variety of service delivery models, including pull-out and in-class supports.
  • Address social, academic, and vocational needs that have an impact on attainment of educational goals.
  • Support the use and maintenance of AAC devices and technology.
  • Support scheduling and maintain appropriate records and data (if applicable, including Medicaid billing).
  • Assist with screening procedures to identify students with potential speech-language needs, including hearing screening.
  • Provide direct intervention assistance to students as identified by the supervising SLP by following IEP or protocols developed by the supervising SLP, excluding feeding/swallowing.
  • Document student progress, without interpretation of findings, toward meeting established objectives as stated in the IFSP/IEP and report this information to the supervising SLP.
  • Review and summarize student performance according to the protocol prescribed by the SLP at the end of each session.
  • Assist the SLP with informal documentation during an intervention session (collecting and tallying data as directed by the SLP), prepares materials and assists with other clerical duties as specified by the supervising SLP.
  • Associate's degree from an SLPA program or completion of college-level coursework meeting state licensure requirements.
  • Experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting.
  • Current licensure through the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
  • Valid driver's license, vehicle available for use on the job, and accompanying automobile.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred.
