Speech Language Pathologist

About the position

The Marblehead Public School District is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for a full-time Speech and Language Pathologist to fill an assignment within the district. The Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating students with speech, language, and communication disorders, as well supporting students with assistive technology used during the school day. This role involves collaborating with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social success.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations to identify speech and language disorders in students, including articulation, fluency, and language comprehension.
• Develop and implement IEPs tailored to each student's needs, ensuring compliance with educational standards.
• Provide direct therapy to improve communication skills, utilizing various techniques and materials.
• Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to create a supportive environment for students, offering strategies to accommodate their needs in the classroom.
• Regularly assess and document students' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate families on communication strategies and how to support their child's development at home.
• Stay updated on best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
• Provide services on an individual or small-group basis.
• Maintain documentation on students under their care.
