About The Position

The School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language therapy services to middle and high school students. The SLP supports students with communication needs through assessment, intervention, and collaboration with educational teams, ensuring services align with individualized education plans (IEPs) and applicable state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Active Texas Speech-Language Pathologist license (required)
  • Clinical Fellows (CFs) accepted
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) – required
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a school-based or pediatric setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to middle and high school students
  • Conduct speech, language, and communication evaluations
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans and IEP goals
  • Deliver services to students with diverse communication needs, including those requiring American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams
  • Document evaluations, progress notes, and service delivery in accordance with school and state guidelines
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student communication goals
  • Monitor student progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed
  • Maintain compliance with educational, ethical, and licensure standards
