The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) will primarily work at the Inpatient Rehab Center, with the possibility to float to acute care and outpatient settings as needed. The SLP must also have the flexibility to float to Hoke, Montgomery, and Richmond Counties as required. This position involves conducting diagnostic speech, cognition, and swallowing evaluations for adult and geriatric patients, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • NC Speech Language Pathology License.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence.
  • Experience with video fluoroscopic studies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel and float between different sites as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with FEES and tracheostomies/PMV

Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations for speech, cognition, and swallowing disorders in adult and geriatric patients.
  • Implement individualized treatment plans based on evaluation results.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Perform video fluoroscopic studies (required).
  • Conduct Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES) and manage tracheostomies/Passy-Muir Valve (PMV) (preferred).
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding speech and swallowing disorders.
  • Float to acute care and outpatient settings as needed.
  • Travel to Hoke, Montgomery, and Richmond Counties as required.
