About The Position

To provide comprehensive speech and language services that enhance students' communication abilities, enabling them to succeed academically and socially within the school environment.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Valid Indiana state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with school-aged children is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify student needs.
  • Develops and implements Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) based on assessment findings.
  • Provides direct speech and language therapy to students using evidence-based practices.
  • Tracks student progress and adjusts therapy plans as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Collaborates with teachers, special education staff, and parents to develop strategies that support student communication in the classroom.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and intervention strategies.
  • Offers resources and guidance to families to support communication skills at home.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Ensures adherence to Indiana state guidelines for special education services.
  • Ensures accurate and timely billing for Medicaid services provided to eligible students.
