About The Position

Speech Therapy specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders. Speech-language pathologists work with patients of all ages who experience difficulties due to neurological conditions, injuries, developmental disorders, or medical treatments. Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a critical role in hospital settings, working with patients across various age groups and medical conditions. Their primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders.

Requirements

• Masters or Doctorate Degree in Communication Disorders for Speech Pathology from an accredited institution by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA)
• New graduates accepted but experience is preferred.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Kentucky and Certified.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence or Clinical Fellowship Year Eligible.
• BLS Certification Required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the evaluation and/or implementation of a treatment program for all referred patients.
• Responsible for contributing to the development and the upgrading of treatment programs and protocols.
• Responsible for the development and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators.
• Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within appropriate time frame.
• The PT will complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies.
• The therapist will participate in departmental operational plan.
