About The Position

Since 1979, EvergreenHealth’s Acute Care/Inpatient Rehabilitation department has been a trusted leader in patient‑centered, interdisciplinary care on the Greater Eastside. Our team includes Physical and Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, Rehabilitation Aides, and more—professionals who are passionate about collaboration, compassion, and clinical excellence. As a Speech-Language Pathologist in our ARU, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and quality of life. You’ll work with individuals recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, and more—ages 13 and up. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Washington State SLP License (or eligibility)
  • Experience with Modified Barium Swallow Studies
  • BLS certification by date of hire
  • Commitment to serving diverse patient populations from young adult to geriatric

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled evaluation and treatment in swallowing, communication, voice, and cognition
  • Deliver individualized, age‑appropriate assessments and interventions
  • Develop collaborative treatment plans with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Document evaluations, interventions, and progress with accuracy and timeliness
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, care teams, referral sources, and coordinating facilities
  • Contribute to program development, procedures, and clinical protocols
  • Support a culture of compassion, safety, and excellence
