We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Speech & Language Pathologist to join our team supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and complex communication needs. The SLP will evaluate receptive, expressive, and pragmatic language skills, complete communication assessments, develop treatment plans, and train staff on communication strategies that promote independence and quality of life. This role is ideal for a clinician who values person-centered care, interdisciplinary teamwork, and making a meaningful impact every day.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Licensed by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
• Strong written documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with AAC devices and alternative communication systems.
• Knowledge of MassHealth regulations and documentation requirements.
• Familiarity with dysphagia management and staff training.
• Strong advocacy and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct communication evaluations and reassessments at least every two years or as needed based on changes in status.
• Assess receptive, expressive, pragmatic, and functional communication skills.
• Develop individualized communication goals, objectives, and treatment plans.
• Provide recommendations and support strategies to improve communication across daily environments.
• Train direct care staff on communication interventions, AAC devices, and treatment plan implementation.
• Evaluate and provide support for swallowing and dysphagia concerns as needed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, families, guardians, residences, and medical providers.
• Participate in support planning meetings, risk meetings, and 6-month team reviews.
• Complete required documentation in compliance with MassHealth and agency standards.
• Advocate for individual needs, independence, and self-determination.
• Provide in-service trainings on communication systems, data collection, and best practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
