About The Position
Speech Language Pathologist – Per Diem - Cornell Campus At NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, our Speech-Language Pathologists help patients experiencing serious impairments connect with the world around them. Our tremendous team provides the expertise patients need to flourish in the areas of dysphagia and communication. We are always looking for better ways to accomplish this goal. Now, you can become one of the people who Makes It Possible. Evaluate and treat adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders in our acute care setting. Conduct objective assessment of swallowing via Modified Barium Swallow Studies and/or Fiber-optic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing. This position is per-diem and days worked are flexible, must have weekend availability. Includes intermittent holiday coverage. Week day availability a bonus.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Clinical Certificate of Competency by the American Speech and Hearing Association
- New York State licensure
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
- NYP will not reimburse for travel expenses.
Nice To Haves
- Competency with MBSS and/or FEES
- Experience in acute care, including ICU
- Specialized training in dysphagia and communication evaluations and treatment
- Week day availability
