About The Position

Orlando Health Advanced Rehabilitation Institute is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to support our inpatient rehabilitation team through weekend staffing with additional weekday availability as needed. This PRN role provides an opportunity to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care to individuals with speech, language, cognitive‑communication, and swallowing disorders across varying acuity levels. You will play a key role in helping patients regain communication and swallowing function while collaborating within a dynamic interdisciplinary rehab team.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) or active participation in CFY.
  • Current Florida Speech Language Pathologist license (provisional license accepted).
  • Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
  • No prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations using patient interviews, medical records, interdisciplinary input, and family/caregiver observations.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with measurable goals tailored to each patient’s needs across the continuum of care.
  • Demonstrate competency in age‑appropriate care and clinical decision‑making for diverse patient populations.
  • Safely operate, maintain, and explain all profession‑specific equipment.
  • Reassess progress regularly and modify treatment plans as needed, completing required documentation timely and accurately.
  • Recognize when patients have achieved maximum benefit from therapy and communicate discharge readiness.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant billing practices.
  • Adhere to the Florida State Practice Act and professional standards of practice.
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, safety procedures, and infection control standards.
  • Ensure reliable attendance per Orlando Health, ADA, FMLA, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, program development, and student supervision as needed.
  • Attend required rehab team meetings, in‑services, and patient care discussions.
  • Use supplies and equipment efficiently and assist support personnel when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate awareness of legal, ethical, and regulatory guidelines impacting patient care and documentation.
