About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a highly adaptable and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a floating assignment covering two consecutive leave periods within an elementary school setting. This role is designed to ensure continuity of speech-language services for students across multiple school sites during temporary staff absences. The assignment is divided into two phases: Phase 1 (January – Mid-February): Assigned to a single elementary school Phase 2 (Late February – End of School Year): Supporting multiple elementary schools within the same district

Requirements

  • Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution
  • Licensure: Active state license in Speech-Language Pathology (Virginia)
  • Certification: ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) required
  • Experience: Prior experience in a K–5 school-based setting strongly preferred
  • Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple caseloads and transition effectively between school environments
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation required due to travel between multiple school sites

Responsibilities

  • Caseload Management: Provide uninterrupted speech-language services for established student caseloads during staff leave coverage
  • Direct Therapy: Deliver individual and group therapy services to elementary-aged students with communication needs, including articulation, fluency, and language disorders
  • IEP Implementation: Review, implement, and manage existing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); participate in and lead IEP meetings as appropriate
  • Evaluations: Conduct triennial re-evaluations and initial screenings to determine student eligibility for services
  • Collaboration: Partner with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure speech and language goals align with classroom instruction
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate service logs, progress notes, reports, and required billing documentation using the district’s electronic systems
