Speech Language Pathologist
About The Position
Premier HealthCare (PHC), a member of the YAI Network, is recognized by the US Surgeon General as a national model for the provision of health care, and by the National Council on Disabilities for raising the national standards of health care services for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. PHC has also earned national certification as a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). PHC is unique in its quality of medical, dental, mental health, rehabilitation and specialty care provided to individuals with disabilities and their families. The Speech Language Pathologist will enjoy a consistent caseload. Evaluate and deliver therapy services to adults and school-aged children with intellectual and developmental disabilities in group homes, adult day programs and/or outpatient medical facilities .
Requirements
- Current licensure by NYS
- Current certification by ASHA
- Ability to work effectively with limited on-site supervision
Nice To Haves
- Experience with the I/DD population (2+ years is preferable)
- Dysphagia experience, a big plus
- AAC experience strongly preferred but not
Responsibilities
- Providing individual, family or collateral psychotherapy to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Conducting psychosocial assessments
- Being part of a multidisciplinary team (medical doctors, nurses, psychiatrists, etc. )
