About The Position

MaineGeneral Health is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dedicated rehab team in a full-time role that offers both variety and meaningful patient impact. This position covers both LTC at our Glenridge facility and Acute Care Therapy at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta. Available to candidates with at least one year of experience Must commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week Not available to current MaineGeneral Employees or former employees separated for less than one year Are you a new graduate and not eligible for the sign-on bonus? We additionally offer up to $9,600 in student loan reimbursement to full-time SLPs. Requirements

  • Maine State Speech-Language Pathologist License (required)
  • A strong clinical foundation and a thoughtful, collaborative approach
  • Maine State Speech-Language Pathologist licensure required.
  • Maine Background Criminal Check - Annual - MaineGeneral Health required for employees at Graybirch and Glenridge.
  • Valid Maine state driver's license with acceptable driving record as defined by MGH policy required and Department of Transportation Annual Motor Vehicle Record Check - MaineGeneral Health required for employees assigned to cost center 147430 -IP Rehab Speech if determined they will operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by ASHA (preferred, or earned within 1 year)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) is preferred within 1 year of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient goals and clinical findings
  • Document progress and collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team
  • Educate and support patients, caregivers, and families throughout the care continuum
  • Assist with discharge planning and recommend appropriate support resources
  • Supervise clinical fellows, students, and support staff as needed
