Every day as a Speech Language Pathologist you will: Evaluate, plan remedial programs and serve as a consultant to staff on speech, language, voice and hearing problems. Focus on functional communication in order to help our students achieve maximum independence in their current and future environments. Collaborate with special education teachers to ensure the speech and language needs of the students The School for Integrated Learning, located in West Chester, Pa, focuses on building upon the unique strengths of each student. Our school strives to offer a breadth of opportunities for students to express themselves and find personal levels of accomplishment through activities such as: Special Olympics, talent shows and school dances, student government, peer mentoring, service learning, community gardening, and employment education, both in the classroom and in the community. Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community. #sponsored

Requirements

  • M.S. or M.A. in Speech Pathology with Certification of Clinical Competence (C.C.C.) or related requirements.
  • Pennsylvania teaching certification or Pennsylvania SLP licensed preferred.
  • Previous experience in remedial speech/language difficulties in a hospital or school treatment facility.
  • Proficient computer skills, mastery of Microsoft Office Applications, experience with data collection/analyzing platforms (Radar, Pro-Filer, and/or other internal and external software applications pertinent to the position).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Requires ability to work independently, prioritize, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and adhere to established guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license must be maintained.

  • Strong Clinical Fellowship (CYF) candidate will be considered.
  • Pennsylvania teaching certification or Pennsylvania SLP licensed preferred.
