About The Position

Vail Summit Physical Therapy is seeking a prn licensed Speech Language Therapist for a 36-bed hospital in Frisco, CO. This is a great opportunity for a SLP to earn some extra income and/or work in a flexible prn environment. The position has flexible hours and requires evaluating appropriate hospital patients and performing occasional modified barium swallow studies. The SLP will need to have effective communication skills to collaborate with radiologists, nurses, dieticians, hospitalists, and the therapy team. The company is willing to review and retrain any SLP in Modified Barium Swallow Studies. THE DETAILS OF THE JOB Plan, direct, or conduct habilitative and rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and swallowing deficits of organic and nonorganic etiology. Review provided information including history or prior test results to obtain background information prior to evaluation to determine appropriate tests and to ensure that adequate information is available. Administer, score, and interpret specialized speech tests, barium swallow results, or medical or background information to diagnose and plan treatment for swallowing disorders, speech, language, fluency, or voice. Collaborate with the Radiology department and Nutrition department regarding dietary needs. Develop, implement, evaluate and modify individualized plans for assigned clients to meet individual needs, interests, and abilities. Maintain records as required by law, VSON policy, and administrative regulations. Meet the Company’s expectations as described in the VSON Policies and Practices. Maintain confidentiality of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with company Policies and State and Federal laws, including OHSA and HIPAA regulations. Perform job in accordance with all company safety practices. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences in ability, personality, and interests; learning and motivation; psychological research methods; and the assessment and treatment of behavioral and affective disorders.
  • Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Skill in selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things.
  • Ability to communicate with different audiences in a simple, clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to identify when confidentiality, discretion and judgment are needed, and exhibit these traits appropriately.
  • Ability to use information technology including email and web navigation, including Microsoft Suite programs.
  • Masters’ degree in Speech Language Pathology or relevant discipline required.
  • Current Colorado Speech Language Pathologist license required.
  • New graduates welcomed to apply but must be licensed in Speech Language required.
