Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) play a critical role in hospital settings, working with patients across various age groups and medical conditions. Their primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders. Their duties can vary, but include: Responsible for the evaluation and/or implementation of a treatment program for all referred patients. Responsible for contributing to the development and the upgrading of treatment programs and protocols. Responsible for the development and achievement of departmental goals, objectives, and performance improvement indicators. Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within appropriate time frame. The PT will complete documentation according to applicable national and state regulations as well as hospital and departmental policies. The therapist will participate in departmental operational plan.
