About The Position

At Rady Children's Health - San Diego Inpatient Speech-Language Pathology Department, the primary focus of our Speech-Language Pathologists is assessing and treating patients of all ages who have been admitted to the hospital, including acute care units and our rehabilitation service. Speech-Language Pathologists evaluate children with communication, cognitive and feeding/swallowing deficits related to their reason for admission and provide specialized therapy to regain & develop functional skills during their hospital stay. Speech-Language Pathologists craft family-centered, innovative treatment plans to improve the patient's functional potential. In fact, innovation is such a meaningful part of who we are that our team regularly presents outcomes studies at national conferences. We provide multiple opportunities for growth and advancement, including in-house continuing education (up to 10 CEUs per year!), and opportunities to train in different specialties. We are proud to have a team mix of tenured employees and those early in their careers. We are looking for lifelong learners and those ready to act as mentors in your area of specialty! To support professional growth and recognize contributions beyond direct patient care, Rady Children's Health - San Diego offers a Clinical Ladder program with Speech-Language Pathologist levels II and III. These roles maintain patient care as the primary responsibility while providing opportunities for additional involvement in areas such as education, research, and advocacy. Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications for advanced roles will have the opportunity to discuss eligibility with department leadership during the interview process.
