About The Position

Baptist Medical Center is currently looking to add a Speech Language Pathologist to our Acute Care Rehab Team in Jacksonville, FL. This is a PRN opportunity at Baptist Nassau in Fernandina Beach, FL (Nassau County). This is a PRN opportunity working in an acute care, inpatient hospital setting. The ideal candidate would be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, and holiday rotations and has had at least 2 years of previous experience working in acute care settings, including experience with Modified Barium Swallow studies. Baptist Nassau is a highly advanced, extremely well-equipped community hospital that provides a full spectrum of in- and outpatient services and 24-hour emergency care to coastal communities in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. Requirements

Active BLS from the American Heart Association and licensure from the FL Department of Health required
Master's Degree

Responsibilities

Evaluates, diagnoses, develops and implements a treatment plan for patients of all diagnoses.
Provides care for patients who present with a variety of medical conditions/dysfunctions such as neurological (stroke, seizures, movement disorders, Guillain barre), respiratory, and general medical conditions which impact swallowing, speech, language or cognitive-communication skills.
Provides extensive patient/family education.
Participates in multidisciplinary team care with other rehab professionals, nursing, physicians, dietitians, social services, respiratory, support staff, etc.
Works in a fast-paced setting requiring good time management, detailed documentation skills in the EMR, self-directed, and effective communication skills.
