About The Position

We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as a Speech Language Pathologist in the Ability Outpatient Clinic. In this role you will be responsible for responsible for providing evaluations and speech therapy for children with delays and/or communication needs to recover, develop or improve independent communication abilities so that children can reach their maximum independence. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence and Current License to practice Speech Language Therapy in the state of AL required.
  • Previous experience as a pediatric SLP required
  • Current License to practice Speech Language Therapy in the state of AL required
  • Previous experience as a pediatric SLP required.
  • Effective interpersonal communication skills, positive teamwork and customer focused service required.
  • Working proficiency using Microsoft office suite required.
  • Experience using an EMR/EHR for clinical documentation required.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence or working towards certificate required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • with a minimum of five years of practice as an SLP preferred.
  • Previous experience in the evaluation, delivery, and treatment involving AAC.
  • Knowledge of disability related issues and familiarity with specific disabilities desired.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates the child and establishes a treatment plan to serve the child’s needs implementing quality, individually designed treatment plans and activities.
  • Reviews plan with parents, establishes visit frequency, discusses progress, planned discharge and next series to promote maximum independence outside of the clinic.
  • Evaluates, recommends and integrates augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT) into intervention to enhance communication and independence.
  • Manages schedule efficiently including re-scheduling visits and proactively identifying opportunities to maximize appointments daily/weekly/monthly.
  • Communicates appropriately with families regarding their child’s therapy, shares results of evaluations and progress towards goals.
  • Provides resources, teaches and trains caregivers for follow through and to promote maximum independence.
  • Works collaboratively with team members.
  • Input all documentation into the system to meet HIPAA and other regulations and for billing purposes.
  • Completes required and necessary documentation and paperwork for each child including but not limited to: evaluation reports, progress notes, and selection of appropriate insurance, coding to bill accurately as required for correct reimbursement.
  • Maintains, submits and meets productivity expectations and reporting.
