Requirements
- Strong clinical skills and current knowledge of speech therapy techniques.
- Familiarity with the needs of the geriatric population.
- Compassionate communication and a resident-centered mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative care team.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Language Pathology required.
- Current license in Speech Language Therapy as required by state law.
- Valid CPR certification required.
Nice To Haves
- Six months experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Administer and interpret specialized tests.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques.
- Collaborate with rehab and nursing staff in a team-focused environment.
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold HIPAA standards.
