About The Position

The Speech-Language Pathologist Evaluator will work with our districts' three full-time Speech-Language Pathologists to conduct speech language evaluations for students in grades PreK-12, as appropriate. As an evaluator, the Speech-Language Pathologist will work with members of the IEP Team to order, complete, and report on speech-language therapy evaluation.

Requirements

• Experience working with students with autism, developmental delays, and pragmatic language/social skills needs within a comprehensive model
• Skilled active listening

• Creativity and adaptability
• Background check, including fingerprinting
• Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval
• Certification as a Speech Language Pathologist in the state of Maine

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive speech-language therapy evaluations that include but are not limited to the assessment of language, voice, fluency, articulation, and social communication
• Collect data by use of informal or non standardized evaluation techniques
• Interpret and utilize assessment data for the purpose of writing reports and developing written intervention plans
• Ensure that a written evaluation that comports with Chapter 101 is completed in a timely manner
• Ensure that evaluation findings are reported to the IEP team
• Attend IEP meetings, as requested
• Contribute recommendations to the IEP team to consider when making decisions and/or developing plans
• Assist the IEP team with goal development based upon assessment results
